MTFCU Happenings
At Members Trust, we believe a credit union is more than a place to bank—it’s a partner in building stronger communities. Thanks to the support of our dedicated employees and loyal members, we’ve been able to make a real difference both inside and outside our branches. From volunteering at local events to supporting schools and community initiatives, the past quarter has been filled with moments that highlight the heart of who we are.
Here are just a few of the ways Members Trust has been showing up for the communities we proudly serve.
Toys Fore Kids Golf Tournament and Fundraiser
In November, Members Trust attended the annual Toys “Fore” Kids Golf Tournament and fundraiser in Stephenville, TX. The Men’s Golf Association sponsors this event, which raises funds for the Stephenville Optimist Club and local angel tree projects. Attendees each brought a toy for donation to Toys for Kids of Erath County.
The tournament raised approximately $15,000 in cash and toys! They had 30 teams, 120 players and approximately 170 toys!
We were thankful for the opportunity to participate and had a great time at the golf tournament!
Dancing for the Stars
Business Lending Supervisor Lance Gilliland and his wife, Shelley, took home the championship at the Dancing for the Stars Deja Vu All Star Event! Dancing for the Stars is a Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraising event. Over $208,000 was raised for one-to-one mentorship programs, safe and fun activities, and valuable community resources. Lance and Shelley individually raised $75k for the cause!
Lance and Shelley were cheered on by Members Trust CEO Liliana Canga and former CEO Brian Gilbert. Members Trust is proud to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, and we are all grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Gilliland for dedicating their time and talent to raising funds.

Pasture to Packer
Members Trust is proud to support the Erath County Pasture to Packer 4-H projects through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. This program is designed to teach young people the real-life economics of feeding cattle, while providing ranchers with valuable information for genetic improvements to the herd. Participants feed and care for their calf from October to March under the mentorship of one of the Pasture to Packer committee members.
Americas Credit Union Lending Council Conference
Our very own Jeff Forsgren, VP of Lending, and Lance Gilliland, Business Lending Supervisor, attended the ACU Lending Council Conference in November.
The Lending Council Conference is the ultimate gathering for credit union lending professionals who want to lead with confidence, adapt to change, and deliver exceptional member value.
Jeff was invited to present one of the breakout sessions on “Using AI with a Human-Centric Approach.” This was a great opportunity to build relationships, network, and walk away with actionable strategies to implement for our membership.

Heart of America Expo
Members Trust is proud to be a 20-year sponsor of the Southwestern National Brown Swiss Open Show Champions. This is the only exclusive Brown Swiss show in the USA and is supported solely by donations.
The Brown Swiss Open Show is a premier dairy cattle competition, with the largest event held at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin, attracting hundreds of cattle and global visitors, featuring classes for heifers and cows judged on conformation, genomics (PPR/NM$), and movement, culminating in All-American honors and strong youth involvement to develop future dairy leaders.
The 2025 show was held in October in Stillwater, OK.
