Tell me a little about yourself and how you came to join MTFCU.
I’ve been friends with Lance Gilliland since high school. His wife and my sister are also good friends.
I grew up in the dairy industry and now own a trucking company – Dairy Cow Compost, where we haul grain, feed and hay for the dairy industry. For years, I banked down the road from Members Trust, and I’d run into Lance periodically around town. Lance asked for a shot at some of our business, and because I knew him and knew Members Trust had been in the agriculture lending business for a long time, I took a chance.
I learned that the rates I can get on my equipment loans are much better, which means better cash flow back into my company! That’s good for my business and my family.
What was your banking experience before you joined MT?
I always banked with a small-town bank, where I knew my personal bankers well and they knew me.
The transition to Members Trust was very easy. I love that all the employees know me personally and know my business. They are always willing to help and are easily accessible.
If you had to explain to someone why they should join MTFCU, what would you say?
I have referred friends and family to the credit union. I always share my story and my positive experience with the Stephenville team and how they’ve helped me save money.
My son recently consulted with Members Trust regarding a home loan. The deal did not work out, but it’s reassuring knowing that we can count on getting honest advice from the credit union, even if it doesn’t generate business for them. I appreciate that!
The service they provide is outstanding, and I know I can always get personalized service anytime I visit.
Are there any employees who have gone above and beyond expectations? If so, who/how?
Ethan Creech, their Business Credit Analyst, also has personal experience in the trucking industry. I love being able to go into the credit union and bounce ideas off Ethan and listen to his advice. We can talk through deals and opportunities, and I appreciate the insight that he provides.
