Summer Travel Tips Summer is upon us and if you’re like most, you’re considering where to spend your Summer Vacation. Some of us head for a tropical oasis, others might prefer somewhere slightly cooler. Whatever you decide, Members Trust can help you jump-start your journey with a low rate Vacation Loan! Here are a few money saving tips if you will be traveling by air:
1. Purchase tickets online. Shop around for your best deals and then buy directly from the airline's website. These are often where you’ll find your best deals. 2. If you can be flexible in your travel dates and times, you can often get a better airfare. 3. Join frequent-flier programs 4. Sign up for e-mail alerts from airlines. You’ll sometimes have to be more flexible with your travel dates, but these offer great rates. 5. If you have more than one airport in your surrounding area, check flights from both airports. You can often find a better deal if you’re willing to drive just a little farther – and the savings may be worth the drive! 6. Depending on where you’ll be flying, you may also be able to fly into an airport that’s a little farther from your destination, but may offer cheaper fares. 7. Always request the ticket price to be quoted with taxes and fees. These can add up, so be sure you know what your total price will be so there won’t be any surprises. 8. Travel on off-peak days or off peak hours. 9. Always buy your tickets 14 or 21 days in advance if you are able. These usually aren’t transferable tickets, but will get you the best rate. 10.
